L.A. Project

The name of the band originated from a combination of the bandleader's names: Lela (Delia) and Art. Their dream was to be able to play together, but it had to be the music that they loved and personally chose, to entertain others. As the band became more in demand, the name for the band was created.

Art began playing drums at the age of 17 and worked his way up as a talented and versatile drummer throughout the Bay Area's "Burrito Circuit" local bands beginning in the 1970's up until now. Before creating the L.A. Project Band, he was most recently the drummer for Zebop! – A Tribute to Santana Band for approximately 9 years. Some of his musical influences are Herbie Hancock, Carlos Santana, Billy Cobham, George Duke and many more.

A family tradition of musicianship and the demand for Latin music, naturally led to the formation of the Folk Latin Ensemble “Sabrosito”.

Centered within the traditions of Folk Mexican, Tex-Mex, and other styles of Latin music, Sabrosito’s tasty arrangements and very distinctive voicing of the instruments entertain all ages and cultures.

Sabrosito's repertoire includes the exciting rhythms of the Cumbia, Ranchera, Bolero, Cha-Cha and Huapango.  The essence of this ensemble is fun-fun-fun, fun playing the music, fun with the audience and fun in their performance.
